The Roleplay & Conversation forum is for anyone looking to practice their Dovahzul in conversation either through roleplaying or about a general topic. There are some special rules to follow when making threads and posting to them to keep the forum organized and fun: Thread Title Every thread title will contain three things – a rating tag, a language tag, and a very brief overview of the conversation topic or roleplay scenario. For the main text of a title, you can write it in English, Dovahzul, or a language of your choice, but remember that English might be better at getting people’s attention. Please keep all titles PG or family-friendly, otherwise it would defeat the purpose of having the rating tag. An example title might look like this: [T][SD] Meeting at High Hrothgar The dragons have gathered at High Hrothgar. Introduce yourself!
Rating Tag The rating tag is either an E, T, M, or AO similar to the ESRB rating system that reflects the content of your conversation or roleplay. It’s up to you be to a good judge of what tag you should give your scenario. Here’s an overview of what each tag might mean: - E (everyone) – Family friendly, no swearing, violence, or sexual content.
- T (teen) – Swearing, some mild violence or sexual references.
- M (mature) – Swearing, violence, mild sexual content.
- AO (adults only) – Reserved for graphic violence and explicit sexual content.
This way, people can anticipate what level of content is going to be in your thread, and they can avoid it if they choose. Language Tag The language tag is either AD, PD, or ND, regarding how much Dovahzul is used in your thread. Here’s an overview of the language tags: - AD (all Dovahzul) – Dovahzul is used entirely in your thread, including for descriptions and actions. Out-of-character chat may still be in English.
- ADA (all Dovahul in alphabet) - Dovahzul is used entirely in your thread and is written only in the Dovahzul alphabet (using brackets will write text in the alphabet).
- SD (some Dovahzul) – Dovahzul is used for conversation, but descriptions, actions, and out-of-character chat are in English.
- ND (no Dovahzul) – An ND thread is English-only, or with a language of the poster’s choice.
This tag allows people to anticipate how much Dovahzul is going to be in your thread. For people with less experience, an SD thread is going to be more friendly than an AD thread. Even if you are very experienced with the language, consider making an SD thread so more people can join the roleplay or conversation. Forum Rules As always, the normal forum rules still apply. Here are a few more to keep in mind when posting to the Roleplay & Conversation forum: - DO NOT intentionally disrupt the conversation or roleplay taking place in a thread.
- DO NOT post content more explicit than the given rating in a thread. For E threads this means no swearing, violent, or sexual content, either in English or Dovahzul.
- DO NOT attempt to significantly alter the roleplay scenario if you are not the poster. For example, don’t show up to a thread and declare that a dragon has just fallen through the roof, that everyone in the scenario has suddenly die, or that the scenario is now taking place somewhere else. This also coincides with rule #1.
- DO NOT be rude or violent towards other roleplayers. If this is part of your character, clearly specify that it is so that other roleplayers don’t get confused.
If you have any additional rules you want to set for your conversation or scenario, you can mention them in your opening post.
