Richard Mille - RM056 Felipe Massa Sapphire
We often think of a case created entirely of sapphire amazingly so that the inner mechanisms could be explored. So I was really excited to see the new Richard Mille RM056 Felipe Quantità Sapphire Tourbillon Double Split-Hands Competition Chronograph (yes, which is full name... ).
The RM056 is equipped with an extremely complicated hand-wound tourbillon motion with hours, minutes, wathe seconds, power reserve and torque indicator.
The whole case is cut as well as milled from a solid prevent of sapphire, an anatomist challenge given the material's extreme hardness. The result is the scratch-resistant case that shows the complexity of the system.
All viser case parts are given an anti-glare coating with regard to optimum optics.
All parts of the movement tend to be perfect, most of which are made from titanium, and the total bodyweight of the movement is less than ten grams.
Ideally in the future we'll see some other watches with sapphire ravenscroft cases like this, possibly less expensive.
