Personally, I like Vlindrel Hall. I've said before that I'm a TOTAL Dwemer nerd, and I find the fact that it's based on Dwemer craftsmanship pretty cool.

To be honest? without Hearthfire, the house in Whiterun cause I just think its sorta just...homey, don't know how else to put it, but Lakeside Manor will always be my favorite home, and the wilds are my true home most of the time |

Honestly, this is a hard question. I like the customizability of the HearthFire houses, but the vanilla ones seem to be the safer choice.
Still, whatever I feel fits the character best would make sense for me. |
