Roleplay & Conversation Forum to shut down 11/15

On November 15th, the Roleplay & Conversation Forum will be removed from the site until further notice. The decision came after long discussion about how to address issues in the community and shift the community’s focus back to study of the dragon language.

This was not an easy decision to make. We know many of you enjoy roleplaying, and some of you visit this site solely for that purpose. The Roleplay & Conversation forum was created as a place to practice Dovahzul and encourage interactive learning. However, we’ve considered recent feedback that the forum isn’t working as intended, and has rather has become a source of contention that has negatively impacted the community and the rest of the site. We believe that the Roleplay & Conversation forum can be a positive tool for practice and learning, but not in its current state.

The Roleplay & Conversation forum will return in the future with a new format and new features to help fulfill its original purpose. In the meantime, please consider using another website such as skyrimforums.org for roleplaying.

While we can’t expect everyone to be happy about this change, we hope you understand the reasons for it and wish you the best of luck in your future adventures.

Yes, they will be preserved in your post history but the forum will no longer be visibly listed.

Shame things got to the point this was necessary. But I understand the reasons behind the decision.

This will hopefully be temporary, but it may not come back for a while. I would rather say "until further notice" than "in the near future" or "soon," which wouldn't be true. When this forum's return becomes clearer, I'll make sure everyone knows.

Character sheets, story and setting summaries, giving the RP master more control over the thread - things that would make a better environment for RP's than the current forums can provide.
