So I was poking through /r/Dovahzul and found a post asking if Dovahzul has any way of quoting something since it lacks quotation marks. Since that subreddit isn't the most active by anymeans and the question got me wondering too, I brought it over here. Is there a way to quote something or someone in Dovahzul?

A hyphen is usually used to indicate a quote. Use a verb like tinvaak "speak" or fun "tell" to indicate that the quote is spoken. Here's an example from one of the Word Walls: Nonvul bron dahmaan daar rot Noble Nords, remember these words |

aal kreh ahrk kren nuz slen do
vahzah muz los sindugahvon
Noble Nords, remember these words
of the hoar father - even the best steel
may bend and break but the flesh
of true men is unyielding.

Ahkrinfeynvokun Yup, the rune symbol is somewhat diamond shaped. Unfortunately it's not included in the current font. |
