Great question! I'll have to listen to the dialogue some more, but from what I can tell it is somewhat consistent: - 2 syllables - stress on the second syllable. Examples:
- Alok
- Dilon
- Fahdon
- Fundein
- Keizaal
- Kodaav
- Sosaal
- 2 syllables - stress on the first syllable (less common). Examples:
- Dovah
- Faasnu
- Krosis
- Strunmah
- 3 syllables - stress on the first syllable. Most evident in dragon names. Examples:
- Dovahkiin
- Nivahrin
- Rotmulaag
- Paarthurnax
- Odahviing
- Alduin
- Taazokaan
- 3 syllables - stress on second syllable (less common). Examples:
There aren't any known rules yet, but most of the time 2-syllable words are stressed on the second syllable and 3-syllable words are stressed on the first. |
