Each RP master (who makes the thread) has a different style, some have annotations like *actions* and "speaking" while others are more narrative where there is a lot of description. You make and control a character, sometimes there is a skelly (skeleton) for you to fill in to make your character. When you control them, you think as they do and act as they would. Once you make a character, you don't really change them. Some people have character progression during the RP, their character at the start hates elves, but at the end, they work with them great. A lot of RP's have rules, all different, but here are some of the usual ones:

• No being OP (over-powered)
• No metagaming (knowing stuff your character shouldn't)
• No controlling or killing other peoples characters
• No calling names or being mean

I haven't made very many RP's but I have read a few, and that is what I've got from it.
