Names and Years

I wanted to know if a name like "Valerie" would just be put together right from the alphabet or if there are any special rules governing proper nouns. I also wanted to know what a year would look like. I plan to get a tattoo of my mother's name along with her birth year and death year in the language. Thank you!

There's two possible approaches to names: you could either look up the meaning of Valerie (looked it up, it means brave/fierce) and find a similar word in Dovahzul (kril/norok, literally), or, like you suggested, just use Valerie. Although the -ie ending is atypical, the name in a Dovahzul sentence would by most people be recognized as a name.

The year is something that is both harder and easier. Harder, because our number system isn't canon (it has been made up by the community, and does not appear in The Elder Scrolls. This is something you might dislike, since it is not official), yet easier, because the number system does have set rules, which can be found here. As an alternative you could consider using Roman numbers for the years.

Personally, I would go for just using the English name written in runes, and the year in Roman numbers. It's all up to you though!
