Questions on Plurals and Conjunctions.

So, I've been wondering how to pronounce plurals, and write them in runes.

1.) Let's say  I take the word "dok" or dog. Dogs are "dokke." But what sound does the "E" on the end take?

2.) So, we have "dokke." In runes, would I repeat the "K" symbol or do I just add an "E?"

3.) We have the word "That" in English. We can use it as "That dog," "That dog is brown," and "The dog that is brown." Are there differences in Dovahzul?

1) The E sound at the end of Dokke and all endings of plural words take the short "short sound" for example. If you say the letter "e" that is the "long e". The short e is more difficult to describe. I think the best way is through listening to it. There is a vine that describes it pretty well when the guy says " okay". Here is the YouTube title.

Hi OKAY Vine (ORIGINAL VINE) Loop - YouTube

2) add the E

3) The only difference would be the word change.

I hope this helped!

  1. The at the end of a word is pronounced like /eɪ/ as in "may" or "fate".
  2. You repeat the "k" rune and add "e". Note that a word like dovahhe would be spelled DOVahHE - that is, with an additional "h" and "e" rune at the end rather than an additional "ah" and "e" rune.
  3. Dovahzul has two separate words, one for the conjunction and one for the pronoun/adjective. Use tol for the conjunction and daar for the pronoun.
