Hi, your level shouldn't matter in this thankfuly. To get past the first portcullis, all you need to do is find the lever (I don't remember the word for it). So, everytime you enter a tile with an unfamiliar dragon word, put in uth and check the commands to see if they say something like lever, if they do, then type out that command and you will be able to get past the portcullis when you return to it. Hope this helps (by the way, the lever is on the right side of the level)!
