Help translating a survival saying

I'm creating a dnd character with a sentimental estoc with a meaningful saying engraved on it. The saying is "Survival is the ability to swim in strange water" I'd like help with the full translation of it. I've entered it on the site's translator but it only did around half of the saying, and it's too confusing for me to do it on my own. Thanks in advance for any help.

In Elder Scrolls Dragon and Ancient Nord culture, I don't think they're going to have a saying that glorifies just surviving. They'd more have an expression about conquering death, or more likely, living fight some more -- by possessing the skill to go through unknown seas/rivers.

Maybe this: "Kendov voth dun do bo zeim vomindok okaazze kron dinok" (The warrior with the skill of going through unknown oceans conquers death)

Or: "Lot Kendov piraak/siiv dun wah bo zeim vomindok okaazze" ({A} great warrior has/finds {the} skill to go through unknown seas)

If you insist on the survival concept, then try: "Wah filok dinok los wah piraak/siiv dun wah bo zeim vomindok okaazze" (To flee death is to have/find {the} skill to go through unknown seas)
