Kogaan definition

I was looking through the dictionary for a word that meant "thanks" or "thank you", and I found "kogaan". Then, I was watching the "Song of the Dragonborn" with lyrics and saw that "kogaan" was in it, but there is no mention of "thanks" in the song. Does anybody know why this is?
