"No, you misunderstand, Sauriil," said Gold, "I haven't done any contracts yet. Astrid gave me the armor, and I left. Place creeped me out, especially with the Night Mother there, decaying *Shivers with fear from the memory*. I was just recruted because someone really hated Zork, and I was blamed for him."

Falin leaned back. "So you're one of their hunters now? Interesting . . . "

"HEYYY!" cried out a unknown, male voice. "Everyone get out!"

Two cultists came in, one with a dagger and one with a crossbow. A worker approached them, telling them to get out. The cultist with the crossbow shot him. "EVERYONE GET OUT!!!"

I walk up to them. 'Is there anything you need? You need only ask.'

'By Shor, your eyes. Your--'

They drop dead, their spines snapped in half. 'Hm, much easier than most.' I walk back.

Before Saurill could sit down, cultists poured into the room, everyone else evacuating.

Aksel stood up. "Look, you don't need to harm us or anyone else...or else you're all gonna die."

Standing, Falin flashed a fang filled grin. "No, let a few come. I'm starving anyway."

I look Falin strangely. I gesture to the dead cultists. 'Do you realize how quickly they fell?' I show them a vision of what happened. They fall an their knees. One grins. He leaps at me, his eyes flashed white, and skin flashed black. 'They are corrupted!' They stood up their skin turning black. They spoke in unison.

'May flesh be our strength. May you feed us plenty. Let mortals fill our bodies. Soon all will be consumed.'

I take the Staff of Magnus and point it at them. 'Back to the abyss! Back!'

Falin frowned. "I thought we took care of all of them. To think that some of them are still lurking around."

'Darkness can never be cleansed.' They start to crawl towards us, chanting a prayer in a strange language. I heard one legible word: Dovahthur. I feel an uncontrollable rage come over me.

"So someone brought them back?! Why?"

"I dont think they were brought back so much as were never wiped out."

A corrupted lunged for Falin. Catching it, she drew her dagger and quickly plunged it into the Corrupted's chest, killing it.

"Do these guys hate fire?" He took out a firebomb he made and threw it at the Corrupted. The Corrupted were hurt and weakened, but not killed. "Kinda." He drew his sword and attacked.

"I guess I forgot to tell you, Sauriil, that I've been studying Dovahzul well you were gone," said Gold.

(Damn. Those are some light-weight creatures.)

'The amount of problems in this tavern is terrifying. And I thought the Winking Skeever was bad.'

Falin shook her head. "It was strange though, all of the corrupted I've seen are practically mindless. But these . . ."
