MirkrilaarI dont call it a rebellion. I call it 'resistance'. Sometimes I feel like the whole world has total control of me and I have no voice. Everything I say is ignored, set aside, given credit to another person or forgotten. I have grown sick and tired of feeling like a puppet in my life, so I decided to 'resist'. Off topic a little, but I had a Red Dead Redemption poster on my door for 2 years. My grandfather tore it down because he said "I was sick and tired of seeing it". I said "Ok." nonchalantly. Next thing on the door, was a picture print out of the French resistance cross. Basically saying that Im tired of being put down and silenced in life. My grandmother acts like a dictator where I live, demanding things from me and having me work for no reward or pay. Making an excuse saying "Food on the table and a roof over your head is your reward". Well their reward is having me over living there period. She tells me "No." for practically everything. I cant hang ut with friends, she invades my privay by reading text messages and asking 20,000,000 questions about my life per day. Im almost 18 years old, and they continue to say that I have no rights at all in the house. True story! They literaly say that "I have no rights". Im so sick of it, that I say that I make my own rights. I usually dont write this much on a post, but when you speak from the heart, you tend to write a lot about what you feel. What I feel...I want to be liberated, set free. No more chains, no more limits. No one to tell me I cant do something or get what I desire. No one putting me down anymore. I rebel, I resist, I will fight until I will be free! No tyranny, no oppression. I can speak my mind, no one to judge, no one to say otherwise. A voice in life! Mirkrilaar, there have been many days that I have felt the same. No one has the right to ridicule you for your opinions. You have a God-given right to an opinion. However, do not so easily dismiss the opinions of others, either. In order to understand why they disagree with you and put you down, you must first try to understand why they hold different beliefs. After all, not ALL of the people who have athority over you had it given to them on a silver platter. No, many of our elders fought their whole lives to make their voices heard, just as you do. Listen to what they have to say, and ask them why they beleive as they do. Otherwise, you will appear as a bigot, or an "ignorant child," rather than a young adult, by whom the future of the world will be molded. Know what you beleive, know what the people around you beleive, and understand why. This, in my mind, is one of the virtues of a great leader.
