Modern Words

After some recent discussions, the dictionary is now open for modern words. A new canon level has been set up specifically for these words. They can includes words such as "phone", "airplane", or "computer". At the moment, real-world names and places are not included. Check out the rewritten Contributor's Manual for more details and help us kick things off with the Jarl's Bounty below!

Looking For Something Particular?

With this addition, the dictionary and search pages are now filtered by canon level. This way you can filter out all modern words or all invented words if you'd like. Canon is the default setting. With an account you can permanently change this. I tried to make this as transparent as possible so non-members can still use the site as easily as before. Spring Cleaning

Another new addition is a "Suggest Revision" button on each word entry. You can now suggest revisions for invented words. Could a word's spelling be improved? Does it fit better in the Modern canon rather than the main language? Is there a canon word that could encompass its meaning instead? We have a lot of invented words and I think it would be great to go through them and see which we can cut or improve.
